About DARI

Collective Approach

DARI is not built by a few. It is built by many. A foundation that claims to speak for humanity must be built with humanity.

Preparing humanity for coexistence with superintelligent AI cannot be the work of a single institution, government, or corporation. The transition ahead will affect every society, every culture, and every individual. DARI was deliberately designed to reflect this reality: its legitimacy comes not from wealth or political influence, but from broad participation by humanity itself.

Independence Through Collective Support

Most research institutes depend on a small number of donors, governments, or corporate sponsors. DARI takes a different approach. Its long-term independence is built on a wide base of contributors, partners, and supporters worldwide. This collective structure serves three purposes:

  • Protection from capture by narrow political or economic interests.
  • Diversity of perspectives reflecting the full range of human experience.
  • Network rather than centralized institution - a global platform for humanity's long-term future.

Who Can Participate

Artificial superintelligence is not only a technical problem. It is a philosophical, societal, economic, and cultural challenge. DARI brings together the perspectives needed to address this complexity:

  • Researchers and scientists
  • Entrepreneurs and technologists
  • Policymakers and diplomats
  • Artists, philosophers, and educators
  • Students and emerging thinkers
  • Citizens interested in the future of humanity

Contributors can engage through research, working groups, educational initiatives, project development, or community building - without requiring formal institutional affiliation. Participation itself is the foundation's strength.

Governance

DARI combines community participation with professional institutional oversight. At its core, a board safeguards the mission, ensures financial transparency, and oversees strategic direction. Alongside it, a global community network generates ideas, participates in consultations, and supports projects.

Participation is layered: from open community discussion to active contributor status, focused working groups, and advisory circles. Contributors increase their influence through sustained engagement - ensuring governance remains meaningful and resistant to short-term capture.

Grantmaking

As DARI grows, it will support projects that contribute to humanity's readiness for advanced AI. Funding decisions follow a transparent hybrid model: community insight, expert evaluation, and board oversight. This ensures collective intelligence informs decisions while maintaining professional accountability.

A Foundation That Belongs to Humanity

DARI's true strength will not be measured by the size of its endowment or the number of its employees. It will come from the people who choose to participate.

The growth of the community is not merely a feature of the foundation. It is the foundation itself.
